Left Handed First Baseman Glove
A left handed first baseman glove is an extremely popular piece of equipment. The reason being that the position is usually played by a left handed player. If you are left handed, there are certain positions on the diamond that you will not play as you get out of youth baseball. The catcher is one position that is all but exclusively played by right handed players due to the footwork needed to throw runners out at third base. In addition, the second base, short stop and third base positions are only played by right hand players due to the need to make throws to first base. At those positions, a left handed player would need to make excessive movements in order to make a throw to first base thus increasing the chances of runners reaching first base safely. Pitchers and outfielders receive no advantage or disadvantage by being left handed, unless you are talking about a pitcher facing a right or left handed batter. However, at first base you are at an advantage if you're left handed. It is quicker and easier to make a tag on a pick off throw and when you release from the bag you can cover more ground defensively than your right handed counterpart since they will be forced to backhand anything hit away from the baseline.
