Pitching Net
A pitching net can be used for teaching a young player or for protection during batting practice. Each net has its functions and features. You might want to purchase both to make sure that your facility is well-stocked. Either way, these will help to improve your baseball or softball skills through practice. The baseball pitching net protection is usually used by a pitcher during batting practice. Nowadays, pitching machines are preferred by many. but when a real live pitcher is used, he can use a safety net to protect him against direct hits. Usually, these live pitchers might be closer to the batter than during a real game. Furthermore, the pitcher is not likely to try to "trick" the batter with a myriad of curve balls, sliders, sinkers or change-ups. The goal is to give the hitter a "fat" pitch that he can hit a long ways. Therefore, the batter's hits are likely to be more powerful. A safety pitching net can protect the batting practice pitcher from any straight line hits. This safety net is a great idea. Usually, the safety net will have an open "L" section for the pitching delivery. Then, after the pitch, the player will hide behind the other closed net section. Any straight line hits will strike the net, not the batting practice pitcher.
Pitch Back - Self Training Tool
The other type of pitching net is the do it yourself practice net. If your son wants to practice his fast ball, then you could buy him a good pitching net for use in the backyard. You could get a standard model that simply prevents the balls from breaking through your neighbor's window. Nolan Ryan used to use a spare tire hanging from a tree. A more advanced model will collect the baseballs in a unit at the bottom. Your pitcher can start with a pail of balls, if he is alone and has some spare time. This also allows the parents some free time. Your son can start pitching right after school.
Baseball Pitching Net
The most advanced baseball pitching net will have pictures on it. The most common pictures are numbers, a batter or the strike zone. You might want to use your favorite team or their primary opposition. This will inspire your son to perfect his pitches. Practice makes perfect and to have an aspiring baseball player is something that any parent would be proud of. Give them the tools to succeed, like this practice net and they will accomplish great things. Have some fun.
